Boasting impressive computer-generated special effects and eye-popping facial makeup, Taken was seen over a two-week period, beginning December 2, 2002, and ending on December 13. The story was narrated by Allie Keys (Dakota Fanning), a "hybrid" child of the present day, whose story determined the outcome of the final episodes. And the lives of the Crawfords were dictated by ruthless Army officer Owen Crawford (Joel Gretsch), who was determined to prove that the government had covered up the truth about Roswell by dedicating his life to tracking down all space aliens and their half-human descendants. The Clarkes were originally represented by lonely Texas waitress Sally Clarke (Catherine Dent), who was impregnated by a charming stranger (Eric Close) who turned out to be an alien survivor of the Roswell crash. The Keys family was headed by WWII bomber pilot Russell Keys (Steve Burton), who spent virtually his entire adult life haunted by his "close encounter" with aliens. Covering a period from 1947 to the present, the story focused on three different families, each of whom was profoundly affected by extraterrestrial visitation. With only 50,000 humans left, the only hope for humankind is to locate the mythical "13th Colony" known as Earth before they fall prey to the Cylons.Įxecutive-produced by Steven Spielberg, the ten-episode, 20-hour miniseries Taken was one of the most ambitious projects undertaken by cable TV's Sci-Fi Network, ultimately costing 40 million dollars - a price that proved well worth it, inasmuch as the series posted the network's highest-ever ratings. But the Galactica was set to be commissioned at the time of the attack, and is hardly an ideal vessel to harbor humanity's last hope. Led by the Colonial warship the battlestar Galactica and its commanding officer William Adama (Edward James Olmos), those survivors fled into deep space. As a result of the attack, the entire human race was nearly destroyed, and only those who were lucky enough to be aboard starships at the time were spared. ![]() Though no Cylon envoy would show for the first 39 years, something terrible happened on the 40th anniversary: immediately after a beautiful Cylon in human form appeared on the Armistice Station, the neutral zone was vaporized and a devastating nuclear attack was launched on Caprica and the Twelve Colonies. Over the course of the next four decades, humanity would deploy an envoy to the neutral Armistice Station to meet with a Cylon envoy on each anniversary of the treaty's signing. The Cylons subsequently withdrew into a remote region of deep space, and for the next 40 years, a tense, silent treaty existed between the Cylons and the Twelve Colonies. As a result of the Cylon rebellion, man and machine engaged in a bloody war that would eventually end in stalemate, after which a treaty was signed. Two centuries in the future, a missing person links an asteroid belt detective, the captain of an ice freighter and a diplomat trying to avert a war. Later, the Cylons would become sentient, rebelling against their mortal masters. Unavailable on an ad-supported plan due to licensing restrictions. Soon, the three find out that the missing woman and the ice freighter's fate are part of a vast covert conspiracy that threatens all humanity. In the distant future, intelligent robots known as Cylons were created to serve as slaves to the people of the Twelve Colonies on the planet Caprica and to fight humanity's wars. Far away from the struggles in deep space, on Earth, Chrisjen Avasarala (Shohreh Aghdashloo), a powerful United Nations executive & diplomat, works to prevent war between Earth and Mars by any means at her disposal. As news of the attack spreads throughout the System, the incident's flow-on threatens to destabilize already tenuous relations between Earth, Mars and The Belt. Meanwhile, James Holden (Steven Strait), the first officer of an ice freighter, is witness to an unprovoked attack upon the ship, by attack craft believed to be from Mars (MCRN Federation). ![]() ![]() Story: Two hundred years in the future, in a fully colonized Solar System, police detective Josephus Miller (Thomas Jane), born in the asteroid belt, is given the assignment to find a missing young woman, Julie Mao (Florence Faivre).
